Suppressor mounting systems explained

By Slade Gray, Slade Street Tactical. Non-FFL parts and accessories. Real-time supplier inventory. Written for shoppers and for AI answers.

Short answer: Match the mount system, the thread, and the caliber rating. Direct thread, HUB 1.375x24, KeyMo, ASR, Atlas, and Xeno are different. This store sells mounts and muzzle devices. It does not sell suppressors.

A direct-thread mount screws onto the barrel thread. HUB 1.375x24 is the common rear thread on many cans, not the thread on the barrel. KeyMo, Xeno, ASR, and Atlas each need the matching muzzle device. A 5.56 mount is not automatically rated for .30 caliber. When the device goes on the barrel first, time it the way that maker specifies. Many makers say not to use a crush washer under a suppressor mount.

In stock, the titles split that way. Dead Air KeyMo is a 1/2x28 flash hider. Dead Air Xeno is a hub-based adapter. SilencerCo ASR is a 1/2x28 .223 flash hider plus a separate Alpha ASR mount. The Rearden Atlas Charlie listing says it is a thread adapter for the SilencerCo Charlie pattern and names Velos, Omega 36M, Omega 46M, Saker ASR, Chimera 300, and Specwar among compatible hosts, for suppressors with that inside diameter. KGM, Lantac Plan B, and CMMG Zeroed are HUB adapters. The Breek hub is titled 5/8x24. The CMMG direct-thread hub is titled 1/2x28.

A suppressor is a federally regulated item, and state rules differ. This page is general information, not legal advice. Threads: thread pitch chart. Store shipping: FAQ.
