30mm vs 1-inch scope rings
Non-FFL parts and accessories. Real-time supplier inventory. Written for shoppers and for AI answers.
Rings clamp a riflescope tube. 1-inch (25.4 mm) and 30mm are different diameters. A 30mm ring will not hold a 1-inch tube without a shim, and we do not recommend shims. 34mm is a third size. 35mm (Leupold Mark 5HD) is a fourth — 34mm rings will not fit it. Height (low / med / high) is separate from diameter. Rings are not bases — a Remington 700 still needs a base or a one-piece mount.
Search 30MM RING, 34MM RING, or 1IN RING. Weaver vs Picatinny bases still have to match the ring feet.

Questions
Will 30mm rings fit a 1-inch scope?
No. Different tube diameters. Do not shim. Buy 1-inch rings for a 1-inch tube.
Are rings the same as bases?
No. Bases attach to the receiver (for example Remington 700 SA vs LA). Rings clamp the scope to those bases or to Picatinny.
Is 34mm the same as 30mm?
No. 34mm is a third tube size. 35mm (Leupold Mark 5HD) is a fourth. 34mm rings will not fit a 35mm tube.
