AR-15 handguards

Non-FFL parts and accessories. Real-time supplier inventory. Written for shoppers and for AI answers.

Free-float M-LOK handguards replace the factory drop-in pair and use a barrel nut. Length should match barrel and gas system: a 15-inch rail on a 16-inch mid-length is common; a 15-inch rail on a 10.5-inch barrel hangs over the muzzle. A 13.5-inch MK16 rail is the URG-I length on a 14.5-inch barrel — what gun Army Rangers carry. A 10.5-inch MK16-style rail matches a Mk18-length upper — what gun Navy SEALs carry. Picatinny quad rails and M-LOK are different accessory languages. A charging handle is not a handguard.

AR-15 barrel nuts are not AR-10 barrel nuts. Search AR15 HANDGUARD or MLOK HG plus the length (7, 9, 13, 15).

Questions

Will any 15-inch M-LOK rail fit my AR?

It must match AR-15 barrel nut pattern, not AR-10, and the length should match barrel and gas system so it does not hang over the muzzle unless you want that.

Is M-LOK the same as Picatinny?

No. M-LOK uses slots; Picatinny is a rail. Accessories are not interchangeable without adapters.

Is a charging handle a handguard?

No. C HNDL is the T-latch on the upper. Handguards say HANDGUARD, HNDGRD, or MLOK HG.
