Suppressor-height vs co-witness sights

By Slade Gray, Slade Street Tactical. Non-FFL parts and accessories. Real-time supplier inventory. Written for shoppers and for AI answers.

Short answer: On a pistol, the irons have to be tall enough to show in the optic window, and that height depends on the optic and the plate. On a rifle, absolute co-witness and lower 1/3 are two different mount heights. Match the title. This page does not print blade heights.

Pistol: Factory-height sights sit below most slide-mounted dots. Night Fision titles sets by optic height: an RMR-height set for Glock Gen 6, and a 507K-height set for the P365. AmeriGlo sells a tall suppressor set and a suppressor-height tritium set for Glock. XS sells a suppressor-height set titled for the Glock 19. A direct-milled slide sits lower than the same dot on a plate, so the iron height changes. Gen 6 and Gen 5 are separate sight sets. Do not assume one fits the other. Tritium vs fiber.

Rifle: Absolute co-witness lines the irons through the middle of the window. Lower 1/3 puts them in the bottom third. Midwest MK2 sells those as two RMR mounts, one titled Cowitness and one titled 1/3 Cowitness. The Trijicon mount here is titled lower 1/3.

Questions

Are suppressor-height sights one universal size?

No. On a pistol the height depends on the optic and the plate. Match the title.

What is lower 1/3 co-witness?

A rifle mount where the irons sit in the lower third of the window. Absolute co-witness lines the irons through the middle. Midwest sells those as two mounts.

Do Gen 5 sights fit a Gen 6?

Do not assume it. Night Fision sells a Gen 6 set as its own part.
